BEMIS, Scottish Refugee Council and STUC (One Workplace), held a conference 10 March, that sought to generate an informed debate regarding employment and race equality in relation to the independence referendum, and what the Scottish Government’s White Paper on independence proposes.
It featured an address by Angela Constance MSP, Minister for Youth Employment, and a debate between Aamer Anwar representing the Yes Scotland campaign, and Anas Sarwar MP, Deputy Leader Scottish Labour representing the Better Together campaign.
A vote was taken at the end of the debate to forecast how the audience would vote at the referendum.
