The last couple of days for me have been really interesting as I have been speaking as a Women for Independence representative
but always emphasising my ethnic background as it completes who I am and is an intrinsic part of my identity.
At a local community event, it was a great opportunity to talk to more women who like me had multiple aspects including culture, religion, ethnicity which is the common denominator to lie the foundations for discussions of what women from other backgrounds understanding is of independence.
As ethnic minorities grow in Scotland, we have the chance to engage in how we as women within those communities wish to shape an independent Scotland, for us, for our children, for an integrated and healthy society.
To share our knowledge, our experiences on how to take forward the vision for a more socially just and equal Scotland that recognises and embraces us all regardless of class, gender, where we come from, BUT for what we can do to enhance our home – Scotland.
Let me share a few pictures from these events to see the great synergies we can create when we come together with a single vision.
